Core Principles

Legacy of Ashes is built around freedom, consequence, and player-driven stories. We keep the rules simple and rely on server mechanics wherever possible.

1. Respect Everyone

Treat players and staff with respect.

Racism, slurs, hate speech, targeted harassment, excessive toxicity, and ERP are not tolerated.

Conflict belongs in the game. Personal attacks do not.

2. Play Fair

Do not exploit bugs, glitches, unintended mechanics, or vulnerabilities for an unfair advantage.

If you discover something that appears broken or exploitable, report it rather than abusing or sharing it.

3. Respect the World

Do not grief, code raid, stream snipe, or deliberately block access to monuments, roads, or other public areas.

Competition and conflict are part of the Ashlands. Deliberately preventing others from participating in the world is not.

4. Trust the Mechanics

Legacy of Ashes is designed around mechanics rather than an endless rulebook.

Pay attention to plugin messages, warnings, zone indicators, and notifications. Server mechanics are generally the authority on what can and cannot be done.

However, something being technically possible does not make obvious exploits, bug abuse, harassment, or attempts to bypass intended restrictions acceptable.

5. Staff Protect the Server

No rulebook can account for every situation.

Staff may intervene when behavior clearly harms the server, its community, or the intended gameplay experience — even when a specific situation is not explicitly covered above.

Staff decisions are guided by these principles and the long-term health of Legacy of Ashes.

Community Guidelines

These are not additional rules. They describe the kind of community we want to build in the Ashlands.

Create Stories

Every encounter is an opportunity to create a memorable story — not a support ticket.

Compete, negotiate, betray, cooperate, hunt, trade, and build rivalries. Give other players stories worth remembering.

Embrace Roleplay

Roleplay is encouraged, but never required.

Whether you’re a lawkeeper, merchant, outlaw, explorer, or lone survivor, you’re part of the world.

Give your character an identity — or simply let one emerge through the choices you make.

Keep It In-Game

Legacy of Ashes is a place to escape the outside world.

Avoid politics, religion, and other divisive real-world topics in public chat. Keep public conversations focused on the game and community to prevent unnecessary drama.

Accept Consequences

Conflict, theft, raiding, arrest, imprisonment, betrayal, and loss can all be part of life in the Ashlands.

Not every encounter will go your way.

Adapt. Rebuild. Settle the score in-game. Forge your legacy.

Support Others

Help new survivors when you can.

You don’t have to give them everything — but helping someone understand the world makes the community stronger.

Today’s fresh spawn may become tomorrow’s customer, ally… or rival.

Resolve Disputes Fairly

When something genuinely requires staff intervention, cooperate with the investigation.

Screenshots, recordings, timestamps, and other evidence help staff understand what happened and reach a fair decision.

Use reports for genuine rule violations — not as another weapon in an in-game conflict.

Help Us Improve

Legacy of Ashes is under active development.

With many custom systems interacting with one another, something may occasionally behave differently than intended.

Report bugs and unexpected behavior constructively rather than exploiting them.

Your feedback helps shape what the Ashlands become.
